Anxiety Therapy in the South Bay

Evidence-based anxiety treatment in Torrance to help you calm your body, quiet your mind, and get your life back.

When anxiety takes over, everything starts to feel like “too much.” You may be constantly bracing for the next bad thing, replaying conversations, or living with a tight chest and racing thoughts. As a Torrance anxiety therapist, I use research-based approaches – like CBT and exposure – to help you reduce worry, panic, and avoidance so you can move through your days with more ease and confidence. Prevention is the gold-standard treatment for OCD. We plan small, doable exposures and practice resisting rituals. Over time, anxiety peaks, falls, and your brain updates. Fewer compulsions, more life.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an anxiety-related condition where intrusive thoughts and urges lead to repetitive behaviors or mental rituals.

You can read a brief medical overview of OCD from the International OCD Foundation or Mayo Clinic, but therapy is where we make it specific to your life.

I respond to every message personally, and we’ll figure out together if I’m the right fit for you.

Cut the Loop of Constant Worry & What-Ifs

When anxiety digs in, your brain gets stuck on “what if.” What if I mess this up? What if something bad happens? What if people judge me? You replay conversations, plan for every worst-case scenario, and try to control everything just to feel okay. The more you do that, the louder anxiety gets. Therapy helps you step out of that loop so you can respond to life instead of reacting to every fear.

Does this sound like you?

  • Your mind is almost never quiet, even when you’re exhausted

  • You get a tight chest, racing heart, nausea or GI issues when you’re stressed

  • You replay conversations and worry you said or did the wrong thing

  • You avoid situations (driving, social events, phone calls, conflict) because of anxiety

  • You have panic attacks or sudden waves of fear that feel like they come out of nowhere

  • You overthink every decision and still second-guess yourself afterward

  • You say yes when you mean no because you’re afraid of upsetting people

  • You’re functioning on the outside, but inside you feel wired, tired, and worn down

If you saw yourself in several of these, Inner Peace Life, anxiety therapy in Torrance can help you feel calmer, clearer, and more in control again.

Anxiety Therapy with Me

And What It Isn’t.
  • A focused space to work on constant worry, panic, and overthinking

  • Practical tools from CBT, exposure, and mind-body work to calm your nervous system

  • Step-by-step support to face the situations anxiety keeps you avoiding

  • Collaborative – you stay in control of the pace and what we work on

  • A place where your fears are taken seriously, not judged or minimized

  • Evidence-based care for generalized anxiety, panic attacks, and social anxiety in the South Bay

What Anxiety Therapy Is Not

  • Not me just nodding while you vent with no plan and no progress
  • Not “just think positive” or “have you tried yoga?” advice
  • Not being thrown into terrifying situations without preparation or support
  • Not endless talking about childhood with no change in how you feel day-to-day
  • Not a one-size-fits-all workbook you could download online
  • Not about “getting rid of anxiety forever,” but learning to live freely even when it shows up
  •

What is Anxiety Therapy?

Anxiety therapy is focused time set aside to stop letting worry run your life. Instead of just talking about how bad it feels (you already know that part), we work on why your anxiety sticks around and what actually changes it.

In our sessions, we’ll:

  • Map your anxiety cycle – triggers, body reactions, thoughts, and the habits that keep you stuck (avoidance, reassurance-seeking, over-checking, spirals).

  • Use evidence-based tools from CBT, exposure, and mind–body work to calm your nervous system and challenge anxious thinking.

  • Build a step-by-step plan to face the situations anxiety has been running for you (social situations, driving, work/school, relationships, etc.).

  • Practice skills in session so you’re not left guessing what to do when the panic or dread hits.

  • Create simple at-home experiments between sessions so you see real-life change, not just insight.

My goal isn’t to erase anxiety completely (no therapist can promise that).
It’s to help you get to a place where anxiety is background noise instead of the boss of your life—so you can show up for the people, goals, and future you actually care about.

How Sessions Work

Map Your Anxiety Cycle & Triggers

We start by clearly mapping when and how anxiety shows up—worry, panic, tension, over-planning, people-pleasing, or shutting down—so we’re treating your real life, not a textbook.

Learn CBT & Mind-Body Tools

I’ll teach you practical skills from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), exposure-based work, and nervous-system regulation so you can respond to anxiety instead of reacting to it.

Small Experiments Between Sessions

Together we choose realistic, bite-sized experiments—like making a phone call, saying no, or driving a certain route—to gently stretch your comfort zone without flooding you.

Weekly Wins, Less Avoidance, More Life

As you practice, anxiety stops running the show. You spend less time spiraling and more time being present with work, relationships, and the parts of life you actually care about.

Relapse-Prevention & Self-Trust

Once symptoms ease, we create a plan so you know how to catch stress early, reuse your tools, and keep your progress going—without staying in therapy forever.

Frequently Asked Questions About OCD

No. Many people come in saying things like “I think I might have anxiety,” or “Something’s off but I’m not sure what.” Part of our early work is simply understanding what’s really going on and whether “anxiety” is even the right name for it. If you already have a diagnosis, great — if not, we’ll sort it out together.

No. Therapy isn’t about throwing you into your worst-case scenario. When we use exposure-based work, we do it gradually and collaboratively. You’ll always know the plan, you’ll have a say in each step, and we’ll stay in a stretch zone — not a panic zone.

Usually, no. My goal is to help you build skills and changes that you can take with you, not keep you in therapy just to cope. Some people work with me short-term (a few months) around a specific issue. Others choose to stay longer to untangle deeper patterns. We’ll talk openly about your goals and what feels right for you.

Absolutely. A lot of my clients are high-functioning, kind of perfectionistic, and look put-together to everyone else — but inside they feel wired, exhausted, and on edge. You don’t need a crisis to deserve support. If anxiety is quietly running your life, that’s reason enough to get help.
